The “Design Together” project was conceived to address the pressing need for Vocational Education and Training (VET) that aligns more closely with the evolving demands of the labor market in both Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. This initiative emerged from the recognition that the gap between the skills taught in VET programs and those required by employers was widening, particularly in the face of rapid digital transformation. The project aims to revitalize VET curricula, making them more relevant, adaptable, and responsive to the fast-paced changes in the workplace.
Our mission is to empower VET providers with the tools and knowledge to create curricula that not only meet current labor market needs but also anticipate future trends. We envision a future where VET graduates are highly sought after for their relevant skills, digital competence, and adaptability, contributing to the growth and innovation of their communities and economies. By fostering a collaborative network between Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, we aim to enhance intercultural diversity, share best practices, and develop common strategies for VET excellence.
The “Design Together” consortium is a vibrant community of partners from across Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in VET. Our partners range from educational institutions and non-governmental organizations to industry representatives and policy makers.
This diverse group is united by a common goal: to revolutionize VET for a digital and interconnected world. Together, we are working to develop a common training framework, integrate cutting-edge pedagogical approaches, and build a robust network for exchange and collaboration.
At the heart of “Design Together” is a spirit of collaboration that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. We believe that by working together, sharing insights, and learning from each other, we can achieve greater impact than any of us could alone.
Our project is built on a foundation of mutual respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to excellence in VET.
